Rocking for March of Dimes
The ribs were not the only thing smoking hot at Smoke-N-Bones on Thursday night (March 29), as the Wellington Street eatery played host to the sixth annual Rock for Dimes fundraiser. Six of London’s best amateur bands were entered in the event, showcasing their musical talents on stage while competing for bragging rights as the city’s best corporate band. Entrants included Short Fiction, Ugly Step Sisters, Second Pass, Duty Calls, Oui B. Jamon and The Collins Barrow Hard at Tax. Judging the evening’s festivities were retired London police chief Murray Faulkner and local media personalities Andrea Dunn, Bret Downie and Cristina Howorun. In 2011, London’s battle of the corporate bands raised $7,500 and this year, organizers hope to exceed that, setting a target of raising $10,000 for the March of Dimes Canada.
Duty Calls received 3rd place in this years Rock for Dimes!
